Study Claims Illegal Mining For Gold Drives Human Rights Violations

A recent study in Latin America shows that recent illegal gold mining has driven many human rights violations and abuse. 

 Global Initiative Against Transnational Organised Crime shows that there has been a rise in involvement of organised criminal groups in illegal gold mining is funding terrorism, facilitating money laundering and corruption, displacing local populations and driving people trafficking, child labor and sexual exploitation.
